For over 20 years, Child Care Connection served as the Child Care Resource and Referral agency for Southcentral Alaska. In July of 2008, this nonprofit became responsible for the statewide service delivery and marketing of the new Alaska Child Care Resource and Referral Network. In August of 2009, the name thread was chosen to signify “the common thread” that ties together Alaska’s network of support for families, early educators and communities. Please join, Candace Winkler, the CEO of thread, as she discusses the important work of the Network, the exciting process of bringing 3 separate Boards of Directors together to creatively depict their new relationship, and the challenges and opportunities of rebranding a 24 year old organization.
